Family Photographs

Janice, Dad and Mom just smiling for the camera. This was taken in 1999...I think. Boy is my hair a strange color...I said I would never, ever dye my hair...gray hair is a sign of experience...but, I hated it, ha, ha. Now, I'm trying different colors, but I'm also finding that as I "age" the dye works differently. Oh well

Martha was only 5 years old here, and she still had her silver teeth. When they finally fell out, and a new, white tooth appeared, she said, "Oh mom, I didn't know I would have white teeth. Isn't it beautiful? I thought my teeth would come in silver." She also still had her leg braces. Janice was about 7 months old in this picture. She has little tubes in her nose, called "stents." They were there to try to keep her nasal passages open. She already had an encephalacele pushed back into her brain which had been in her nasal area. And...she still didn't have her cleft lip and palate repaired, but isn't she an absolute doll anyway? I just love this picture.

Evening Prayer.
OR maybe I should call this:
"See No Evil, Think No Evil, Speak No Evil, Smell No Evil." Rita, Roger, Charles (my grandson), and Marc trying to fold their hands and pray. Poor Roger, never could get those hands right, ha, ha. December, 1997.

Here is a typical picture of me, mom to all these kids. I go by adoptn on the internet. My face is always red, so don't ask me where I received the bad sunburn. Sometimes I just say I've been skiing in Colorado, that is more impressive than saying, "I just have a skin problem." Oh well, my family is used to it by now. Roger is snuggling up to me.

This is one of the most, if not the only, most loving, most patient, and most wonderful husbands in the world!! He is holding our 5 month old daughter, Rita.

Here is another picture of me/Mom. My brother took it up in the mountains, at what used to be my folks' "mountain house." Janice was a bit chilly at first, so had her hat on, but soon she was playing in the spring water. This was taken in 1996 I think.

Here is one of 20 family pictures...none really turned out good of each one of us, but this is the best.

Alice is 15 years old, totally blind, and severely autistic. She is one of the most interesting kids in our family. She doesn't need much sleep, so has "parties for one," during the night. By that we mean that she "sings," jumps up and down, just has fun during the night. Here, she is totally bored by an Easter egg hunt. She was born in Korea. When we first heard about her, she was described as an 18 month old, who was blind. At first we thought that her developmental delays, were just because she needed "early intervention" type preschools. But as time went one, we realized she was...unique. She has few words, but she does know what she likes and doesn't like, and has her own ways of letting others know it!!
Mom's award-Storksites Special Needs Children My first award for ME: Mom Storksites Special Needs Children This award is for Mom's with Special Needs Children. I feel honored to have been given this award for me personally. Their site has great links to other websites about special needs children, links to other families, and even a bulletin board.

I've had visitors to this page, since January 14, 1998.
